New Italian government, no communication Ministry
by Alessio Placitelli on May.15, 2008, under Politics
Quite odd for a “so called” advanced country, isn’t it?
EU proposal: new policy against Internet censorship
by Alessio Placitelli on Feb.29, 2008, under Politics
“The European Parliament just passed a proposal to treat internet censorship as a trade barrier, in particular the ‘Great Firewall of China.’ If passed by the European Council, the issue would be raised in trade negotiations and could lead to economic sanctions and trade restrictions for those countries unwilling to remove oppressive Net censorship.”
Just one consideration: do we really think we can blackmail China like this? Do we really think we have both the power and the importance to stand against China’s will? Probably not, but at least, that’s another step toward freedom.

VAT reduction for TLC services
by Alessio Placitelli on Jan.25, 2008, under Politics
Unless you live in Italy, I don’t think there’s anything you can do to help us lower our VAT on TLC services. At the time of writing, our VAT on TLC services (phones, internet, etc.) is at 20%. This is way too high for something that’s needed to call emergencies services (phones) and to help in country development (internet). If you still want to help (or you are just curious and can read Italian), just switch to the Italian version of this article.
PEGI is sh*t: we NEED our religious/conservative PEGI-clone rating system
by Alessio Placitelli on Jan.23, 2008, under Politics
If you live in a foreign country and you are sad because you had a bad day at work, I know a simple method to slap a smile back on your face again: browse the net for the latest mafia Italian government news.
Just in case your favorite RSS feed didn’t report this stuff already, here’s what you are missing: a new law is going to get discussed in our parliament. This law aims to fund a new political commission which should approve, reject or rate again games already analyzed by PEGI.
Hey, that’s simply weird… wasting my money on people who knows shit about videogames, who maybe didn’t ever played one of them during their own meaningless life
What would you expect from a bunch of sweet guys without even a school degree?
Thank god someone noticed, and started a petition which already gathered 20k signs.
